is in Bussorah street, a quiet pedestrian street of conserved houses,
closed to traffic. Most people in Singapore speak English and are surprisingly friendly,
so don't be shy to ask directions!
Golden Mile, Lavender and Queen Street Bus Terminal (buses from Malaysia)
All are within a few blocks, walking distance - ask for directions to Arab Street,
and Bussorah Street is the pedestrian street parallel to Arab Street.
From Changi Airport by MRT train (35mins, $1.40. 1st train 6am; last 11.30pm)
We are at Bugis MRT station which is on the direct (green) line from the airport.
Walk from Bugis MRT (local underground train)
Getting here from the airport by MRT (metro/subway) is an easy, flat, 5min walk.
Take exit B, up escalator, turn right up Victoria street (2 blocks, past Raffles Hospital
and Golden Landmark), turn right along Arab Street (1 block). Turn left into Muscat Lane,
a very short lane leading to Bussorah Street, which is a lovely, well-lit, pedestrian street
with palm trees (keep going, past the back-alley/service-lane on the right, go towards the trees).
From Changi Airport by taxi (15 mins, approx $20)
Taxis are inexpensive, approx S$20-$25 from the airport or S$5-$15 within the city or from
a bus/train station. Bussorah Street is a pedestrian street so taxi drivers aren't familiar
with the name, so tell the taxi driver:
'Bussorah Street is off Beach Road. Keep going along Beach Road, one more street after Arab street'.
Part of our street is pedestrian-only, so you need to walk the last 20metres/yards. We are number 55.
Taxi drivers are honest in Singapore, and will use the meter.
From Tanjong Pagar Train Station (trains from Malaysia)
By Bus (next to station: 25 mins, $1)
From keppel Road take #100 directly to Beach Road, alight at stop called "opposite
Plaza Hotel" bus-stop, Bussorah Street 20 meters away. Or take either #80 or #145
direct to Bugis MRT station and walk from there.
By Taxi (10 mins, approx $10)
Taxis available at the taxi stand or Keppel Road. Taxi drivers are honest and
well-informed - tell them that Bussorah Street is off Beach Road after Arab Street.
